| Why is there a pound rate plus a dollar rate? | This is because with the US local SIM you have two balances: the UK2Abroad balance (in £GBP) and the local SIM balance (in $USD).- All your incoming and outgoing international calls are charged to the UK2Abroad balance (in pounds) and you also pay for calls made and received to the US SIM, which is deducted from the US balance (in dollars), standard for all US mobile networks.
- You can either pay a daily fee charged to the local SIM (by default) or pay per minute.
- You can switch between daily and per min rate plans from the phone at any time.
- Note, we include a minimum of $25 US local SIM credit in the cost of the SIM, so that's 12 days of use at $2/day with unlimited incoming calls, unlimited local calls and unlimited texts (both local and to UK): then all you pay is the UK2Abroad per minute fees on top.
